AllClear Travel's Green Promise

At the AllClear Travel Group, we are proud to be a green company. We are committed to reducing any harmful effects on the environment and creating simple opportunities for our staff to be green. We acknowledge that the office environment has a vital part to play in improving sustainability, and helping our customers be green too.

We know that every little thing, if everyone in the office does it, can make a big difference. But we also know that there is always more that we can do That is why we have developed a Green Promise - that covers everything we agree to do now, and will continue to do, as well as the things that we want to look at for the future.

The Green Promise will be updated every year, and shared with all staff,

Recycling/reusing everything we can in the office

We are committed to:

  • Purchasing recycled paper products/stationery wherever possible
  • Recycling office paper waste wherever possible

We will:

  • Look at implementing multi material recycling - recycling all cardboard, cans, plastic bottles, batteries and glass
  • Look at new water cooler options to reduce the use of plastic cups and plastic water bottles etc

Minimising paper use in the office

We are committed to:

  • Only printing when absolutely necessary
  • Ensuring every employee has a tag line on the bottom of their signature to remind the reader to consider the environment before printing the email
  • Sending out all customer policy paperwork in email format only, so there is no requirement for it to be printed
  • Pen and paper has been banned in the call centre - white boards are used instead

We will:

  • Continue to develop an online communications hub as the first part of a paperless office strategy. All docs to be archived in digital format for easy access and to remove the need for multiple print outs. A digital message board to be instead of a paper notice board.developed

Being an Energy Saving Office

We are committed to:

  • Turning off all electrical appliances at the end of the day (printer, copier, radio, computer and screen, TV etc)
  • Encouraging all employees to switch their computer off when out of the office for longer than 2 hours during the day
  • Turning off the heating when it is not required
  • Only using artificial lighting if there is insufficient daylight. Using screen blinds to ensure maximum natural light. Using lights that turn off automatically when no-one is in the room

Generating Behaviour Change in the office

We are committed to:

  • Producing internal communications to raise awareness of the 'Green promise' and correct misconceptions
  • Updating all staff on any environmental developments within the office
  • Use of virtual meetings/phone conferences - reducing the need to travel to meetings
