How soon can I take out travel insurance, do I have to take it out before or after booking the holiday?
We advise you to arrange your travel insurance as soon as you book your trip to ensure you are covered for cancellation and curtailment.

How do I use your live web chat?
To the right of the page you will see wording “Need help? Click here for live assistance”, clicking this will open a new window. Simply enter your name and wait for the operator to respond, at which time you can then type in your questions, to which the operator will respond.

Is your website secure?

What is Travelling Companion cover?
Travelling companion cover offers cover for travelling companions insured under another travel insurance provider for cancellation and curtailment due to your pre-existing medical conditions. AllClear Gold and Gold Plus policies are able to offer the extra "Travelling Companion" cover for a small additional premium which would cover such risks. Please contact our call centre after you have purchased your policy to add Travelling Companion cover.

What is a Cruise specific policy?
A cruise is a unique holiday, and specialist cruise insurance will cover you for the particular issues that might arise, such as being confined to your stateroom in case of illness, or missing a planned port visit It also provides additional cover , if you need to cancel your cruise of up to £25,000.

What is a pre-existing medical condition?
Any disease, illness or injury for which you have ever received medication, advice or treatment or, you have experienced symptoms whether the condition has been diagnosed or not. The medical declaration question at the start of the AllClear Options quote process specifies which pre-existing medical conditions need to be disclosed to us for the purposes of arranging insurance.

Why do I need cover for my pre-existing medical condition(s)?
When travelling abroad medical treatment can be very expensive. Should you require assistance without comprehensive cover it could be a very costly experience.

I cannot find my condition on your system?
The system can be quite sensitive to spelling. Try entering in the first few letters only. If you are still having trouble please contact us via our live web chat.

Are you able to quote and provide cover for a condition that has not yet been diagnosed?
We can only screen a condition that has been diagnosed by a medical practitioner, and therefore we cannot provide a quote or offer cover until such time as your condition has been diagnosed.

My treatment is soon to finish should I wait?
No, just answer the questions as of today. If you are still having treatment, even if it finishes tomorrow, answer yes because you are still having treatment today.

I am taking medication to control my condition do I still need to declare it?
Yes, you need to declare all medical conditions including those that are under control. This is important as otherwise a claim may be invalidated if all material facts are not disclosed.

If a close relative who lives in the UK who has a pre-existing medical condition is taken ill whilst I am on holiday can I return home?
You may have a close relative with a medical condition who is not travelling with you. In some cases, if their state of health deteriorates greatly, you may want to cancel or curtail your journey. Subject to all the other terms and conditions, such claims are covered if the relative's doctor is prepared to state that at the date you bought this policy, he/she would have seen no substantial likelihood of his/her patient's condition deteriorating to such a degree that this would become necessary. If the doctor will not confirm this then we do not offer any cover.

I have purchased a policy on line and have tried bringing up my details but cannot find it.
You cannot access your policy information on line once it had been purchased. If you need to make any changes to your policy please call us on 0845 250 5201. Your policy documents will be posted to you.

How do I print my policy?
You will receive your policy documentation by email. If you haven’t received these please email us at technicalservices@allclearinsurance.com and we will email all your documentation to you. Alternatively, if you would like your documents posted please tick the box at Step 7 of the quote. Your documents will arrive within 5 working days.

Can I get my money back if I want to cancel?
Yes; if you are not completely satisfied with the cover provided you may return your policy to us within 14 days of receipt of your policy documents, provided that you have not travelled and are not making a claim.
