Important information about mild asthma travel insurance
Single trip or annual multi-trip?
If your travel plans include several holidays in one year, then an annual multi-trip policy for mild asthma travel insurance could be your best option.
However, with an annual multi-trip policy, each holiday cannot be longer than 45 days if you’re under 70, or 31 days if you are over 70. Also, all trips have to start and finish in the UK (AllClear Gold and Gold Plus policies). If you’re considering a trip which is longer than this, you might want to look at a single trip policy instead.
Providers do vary in the trip length requirements so make sure that you check the specific policy details.
Do I need to declare my asthma, even though it’s very mild?
It’s essential to declare your asthma when completing your quote; no matter how mild it is. However, we understand that the severity of asthma varies. That’s why, the multiple-choice medical questions allow you to detail how mild or severe your asthma is.
We use this information to determine your premium (the amount of money you pay for your insurance) and offer a range of fairly priced quotes for you.
What happens if you need to change something regarding your medical situation after purchasing your policy?
If you develop a new medical condition or an existing one gets worse, you’re still able to amend your policy. However, please notify us at the earliest opportunity and in particular before you book or commence your trip.
For changes to your original medical declaration, just call our Customer care team to make any adjustments. Please note that in some cases, we may apply an additional premium to your policy to make these changes. Please check your policy wording as providers may vary.
