What does the GHIC cover in Austria?

In Austria, healthcare operates on a two-tiered system. Austria’s two-tiered healthcare system is mainly publicly funded through taxes, enabling everyone access to treatment for free. Citizens can pay to have supplementary healthcare as part of the second tier.

Visitors can access emergency medical treatment from the Austrian health care system if they have a GHIC . However, the system doesn’t cover all aspects of treatment, so Travel Insurance is also essential.

What is the best month to go to Austria?
