Medical expenses cover – although it’s not mandatory, travel insurance is strongly advised when travelling to India. Choose a policy with medical expenses cover, to avoid any unexpected medical expenses if you need treatment while you’re away.

Repatriation – The FCDO specifies that medical facilities are not comparable to those within the UK, especially in remote areas. If You need medical transport back home, you’ll need repatriation cover to help with the costs.

Visiting Family In India?

If you are visiting friends or family in India, you will still need a Travel Insurance policy. If you hold a dual-citizenship, then you should be entitled to state medical care where available. Still, the nearest state vicinity may be too far from you, and you may be treated in a more specialist or private hospital out of necessity. If this happens, you may still be left with a medical bill to pay if you don’t have comprehensive Travel insurance.

Can you be Covered for Long Stays in India?

On a Single Trip policy, the limit of one single holiday can be anything up to 365 days. So if you are planning to visit India for a year or less, we can cover you for the entire duration of your visit!
