What is Travel Insurance for Autism?
Travel Insurance for autism is specialist cover designed to support travellers who are autistic – and their families or carers – when heading abroad. It offers the same core protection as standard Travel Insurance, but with additional flexibility for travellers who may have sensory sensitivities, communication differences, or specific medical or support needs.
According to the National Autistic Society, around 700,000 people in the UK are on the autism spectrum – roughly one in 100. That means many travellers and families need extra reassurance when planning a trip. Having the right Autism Travel Insurance protects you if things don’t go to plan – from medical emergencies to lost belongings or cancelled travel.
With AllClear, you’ll also have 24/7 access to an emergency medical helpline, so help is always just a phone call away – wherever you are in the world.
Because autism affects everyone differently, we take the time to understand your individual needs during our simple medical screening. That way, you can choose cover that’s right for you – whether you’re travelling solo, with a companion, or as part of a family holiday.

Travel Insurance for an autistic child: Do I need a single trip or an annual multi-trip policy?
If you’re planning to travel with your family many times in the year, then an annual multi-trip policy might be more cost-effective for you. Please note, that an annual multi-trip policy covers only trips that both depart and arrive in the UK.
If you have holiday plans of longer duration than this then you may prefer a single trip policy instead.
