Travel is about freedom – the chance to explore, relax, and reconnect. But when you’re living with haemophilia, that freedom can come with added questions: What if I need treatment abroad? Will my medication be covered? Our Haemophilia Travel Insurance is built to answer those questions with confidence – so you can plan your trip without second-guessing your safety.

With over 20 years’ experience supporting people with medical conditions, we understand that no two travellers – or policies – are the same. Our specialist cover is designed to fit around you, not the other way around. So if you’re flying long haul, escaping on a quick city break, or travelling for something truly special, our Travel Insurance for haemophilia helps make sure your journey is protected from start to finish.

What is Travel Insurance for haemophilia, and why do you need it?

Travel Insurance for haemophilia is specialist protection designed for people who live with this rare blood-clotting condition. Unlike standard policies, it offers cover tailored to the unique risks associated with haemophilia, such as the need for access to factor replacement therapy, extended hospital stays, or emergency repatriation. It also helps ensure you’re supported if you lose your medication, experience a medical complication, or face unexpected trip disruptions.

Travel can present specific challenges when you’re managing haemophilia, from managing travel fatigue to accessing appropriate care abroad. Without suitable insurance, even minor medical incidents could result in high out-of-pocket costs, stress, or interrupted treatment. That’s why Travel Insurance for haemophilia is more than just a tick-box – it’s your safety net abroad.

Here’s why it matters:

  • Hospital treatment abroad can be extremely expensive, especially in countries where access to clotting factor treatments is limited or uninsured.
  • Unexpected bleeds or injuries could require urgent care or medical evacuation, which may not be covered by general policies.
  • Lost or delayed medication could lead to health risks if you’re unable to access your usual treatment while away.

At AllClear, our Haemophilia Travel Insurance is built to help you travel with confidence, with cover designed around your medical history, no upper age limit, and 24/7 emergency medical assistance.

What does AllClear’s Haemophilia Travel Insurance cover?

Our Travel Insurance for haemophilia covers you against unexpected medical costs abroad. We offer up to unlimited cover for medical expenses. We’ll also cover costs if you need to get home in an emergency. Here’s the full list of what is and isn’t covered:

What’s covered?

  • Medical cover. AllClear policies include emergency medical cover, including for existing conditions. This includes prescription medication, medical emergencies and medical equipment.
  • Cancellation and cutting your trip short². Cover for your flight and accommodation costs if you have to cancel before you go. We’ll also cover you if you need to return home early following an emergency.
  • Your baggage. Protection against the cost of stolen, damaged or lost luggage and personal possessions. You can also choose to add extra cover for gadgets to your policy.
  • Travel delays and missed departures. If your flight is delayed, we’ll compensate you for the time. If you miss your flight, you’ll also be covered for accommodation and transport costs.
  • Personal liability. Cover for your legal expenses and any liability due if you accidentally injure someone. You also have cover if you damage their property while you’re away on holiday.
  • All ages. We believe Travel Insurance should be available to as many people as possible. That’s why our Travel Insurance has no upper age limit.

What’s not covered?

  • Deciding not to travel. We do not provide any cover if you can travel but choose not to.
  • Other regions. Your Travel Insurance for haemophilia won’t cover you if you travel outside your chosen region. You can contact us to upgrade your policy anytime.
  • Claims below the value of excess. You’re not covered for claims that fall below the value of the excess stated in your policy
  • Medical conditions you fail to declare. You need to provide us with an accurate medical history when you buy Travel Insurance. This is so we can give you the right cover. This is especially vital for senior travellers and those with long-term illnesses.

For full details of cover, please see your policy wording.

AllClear’s Travel Insurance for haemophilia with other pre-existing medical conditions

If you’re living with haemophilia, you may also have other conditions that affect your health, from hepatitis C or joint damage due to past bleeds, to unrelated conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes. That’s why we make it easy to include multiple pre-existing medical conditions in one policy, giving you the protection you need without the hassle of managing separate cover.

During our simple medical screening, you’ll have the opportunity to declare all your conditions, so your policy reflects your full health profile. That way, if any of your declared conditions lead to a medical emergency, you’ll be covered – with no surprises or exclusions to worry about.

We’re specialist Medical Travel Insurance providers, with 99%+ of our customers offered cover³.  AllClear can provide cover for over 1,300 medical conditions, including:

  • Liver conditions, including hepatitis C
  • Musculoskeletal issues, such as rheumatoid arthritis or joint complications from haemophilia
  • Diabetes, including insulin-dependent types
  • Heart conditions, like high blood pressure or atrial fibrillation
  • Respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD

We believe everyone deserves the right to travel – and that includes people managing complex health needs. Our haemophilia travel insurance with additional medical cover helps take the pressure off, so you can plan your trip with confidence.
