What does the GHIC cover in Sweden?
Unlike Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland, the GHIC can be used in Sweden to access emergency medical treatment. However, the GHIC system doesn’t cover all types of care, such as repatriation, so you will still need travel insurance for your trip.

The national health care system is government funded and nationally regulated, offering a good level of medical treatment. Should you need emergency care you can use your GHIC card for access to some treatment.
