Flexible Travel Insurance for family

Family holiday insurance can offer a variety of extra benefits, including:

Travel Disruption: covers you and your family for unforeseen events such as weather disruption or civil unrest.

Gadget Cover: protects your family’s electronic personal possessions.

Winter Sports: if your family is planning a skiing holiday. Not all activities are covered as standard – it’s always worth checking.

Family holiday Insurance for a cruise

Are you considering taking your family on a cruise? At least one in ten (14%3) of those we surveyed intend to enjoy a cruise this year. Travel Insurance for a cruise is essential. To protect your holiday and your family, you’ll need the specific benefits offered by this type of cover:

  • Missed port departure
  • Cabin confinement
  • Itinerary change
  • Unused excursions
  • Cruise interruption

GHIC cover and Family Travel Insurance

If your family is heading to Europe, it’s good for each member to have Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). This will provide access to some emergency medical healthcare in 27 countries where the scheme is available.

However, Travel Insurance is still required as the GHIC doesn’t cover everything. For example, if one or more of your family members need to be repatriated, you could face a substantial bill without cover. Repatriation from Spain to the UK is £18,000, and from the USA to the UK is £50,000.
