Why do you need Travel Insurance for Cyprus?
Each year thousands of UK citizens travel to Cyprus, and through their Travel Insurance get the help and support they need when things do not go to plan. You’ll need comprehensive cover. Statistics from the Association of British Insurers show that every few minutes a UK holidaymaker needs emergency medical treatment abroad. These claims can range between a few hundred pounds to tens of thousands of pounds depending on your holiday destination. No one wants their holiday ruined by any unexpected bills so make sure you have the cover you need to avoid this. Comprehensive travel insurance is vital.
Comprehensive cover when travelling to Cyprus
From culture to cuisine, the island has plenty to offer, so you’ll want to make the most of it. Our policies are tailored to suit you, covering cancellation and emergency medical expenses, including for any pre-existing conditions you may have.
What should a Travel Insurance policy for Cyprus cover?
When searching for comprehensive cover – look for a policy that includes the following: Emergency medical expenses – cover for any emergency medical expenses for unforeseen circumstances while you’re away. To ensure you’re covered effectively – you must declare all pre-existing medical conditions. Repatriation to the UK – it’s vital to include repatriation (medical transport) back to the UK in your policy. Without this cover, you could face an extensive bill. Cancellation and cutting your trip short – cover for cancellation or cutting short your holiday due to medical conditions or other unforeseen events. Baggage and personal property – if your bags or personal property get lost, damaged or stolen while you’re away,

GHIC and travelling to Cyprus
If you’re travelling to Cyprus your EHIC will remain valid until its expiry date, as long as it was issued before the end of 2020. Once your EHIC card has expired or is cancelled, it will be replaced with a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). The GHIC is still not a substitute for comprehensive medical Travel Insurance. GHIC is free via the official website.
