Why do you need travel insurance for Sardinia?

We understand that travel and all the extra things to think about may seem a little overwhelming during the pandemic, which is why it’s important to choose a travel insurance provider that you can trust.

Sardinia Travel insurance by AllClear now includes COVID-19 cover offering you protection against unexpected emergency medical bills or cancellation costs.

Comprehensive cover when travelling to Sardinia

With luxurious resorts and phenomenal beaches, Sardinia is home to ancient ruins and quaint villages – the perfect setting to enjoy a sunny escape.

If you choose to explore Sardinia, you’re sure to have an incredible time.

What should a Travel Insurance policy for Sardinia cover?

Want to be confident in your choice? When buying travel insurance, look for  high-quality cover that includes:

Emergency medical expenses – As long as you have declared all pre-existing medical conditions, this will help protect you against any unforeseen circumstances while you’re away.

Repatriation to the UK – This will cover the costs if you need to be medically transported back to the UK. The GHIC scheme does not provide cover for repatriation.

Cancellation and curtailment – cover for cancelling or cutting short your holiday.

Baggage and personal property – covering your personal property should they get lost, damaged or stolen while you’re away.

Do you still need travel insurance when travelling to Europe if you have a GHIC?

Travelling safely is more important than ever. As we all know, the unexpected can happen even on holiday. So, to avoid any emergency medical claims, you’ll need comprehensive travel insurance as you cannot rely solely on your Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). This is because a GHIC card does not provide cover for all circumstances.

Once your EHIC card has expired, you can request the GHIC card as a replacement. To do so, visit the official website.
